A 51-year-old nurse, Mrs. Helen Ilonge,
has lost her life after a commercial motorcyclist she contracted to
carry her handed her over to ritual killers.
The Punch newspaper
reports that late Ilonge, was coming from a programme at the Assemblies
of God Church, Abakaliki in Ebonyi State, and had stopped the
motorcyclist simply identified as Ifeanyi, to carry her to Igoli.
Halfway into the journey, Ifeanyi under the pretense of taking the
deceased to her village, stopped the bike and handed the woman over to
the ritualists at Ukpe. It was gathered that Ilonge was beheaded while
her vital reproductive parts such as breast and vagina were removed for
ritual purposes. Luck however ran out of Ifeanyi when the telephone line
he used to call one of the deceased’s daughter to request for N50,000
recharge cards was traced back to him.
